BTech in Industrial Chemistry (IC)

For the last 15 years, the department has been teaching general chemistry, environmental chemistry, and chemistry laboratory to the BTech students of the institute. About three years back, the department introduced the BTech Program "BTech in Industrial Chemistry". In 2021, we started the program with eight motivated and talented students. In the subsequent years, the number of intakes has increased to 14 (Batch of 2022), 22 (Batch of 2023), and 24 (Batch of 2024). The program aims to produce human resources with the strong fundamentals of chemistry with the technical knowledge and expertise required for the chemical industry. The program focuses to train the students in three verticals, aiming for industries relevant to the pharmaceutical, polymer and energy, and petrochemical sectors. The courses include a semester-long internship in the above sectors and an industry lecture series. The above curriculam ensures the readiness of the students to be readily absorbed in industries belonging to these three verticals. Motivated students can continue their higher studies in India and abroad.
